This is a print of the original watercolor painting, within a series called Giologica. The print is scrupulously perfected and produced on the finest artist grade Moab Entrada cotton paper.
This specimen is from Sapo Mine, Brazil. Tourmaline comes in seven different types, each with different color patterns. This one is elbaite, which is the multi-coloured variety- such a specimen exhibits the most variably hued of all known gems. Egyptians called it "rainbow rock", believing it to have gathered different minerals on its way up from the depths of the earth. Tourmaline is actually a group of species in itself, having many minerals in its composition including dravite, schorl and lithium.
This print does not come with a handmade frame, however I do sell framed prints at random times.
11x14in/28x35.5cm professional archival print, on 300 gsm 100% cotton fine art Moab Entrada paper. Artist signature, date, and unique Giologica stamp on back of print.
